Verlingue Portugal Joins WBN to Anchor Adelaïde Group Expansion

By integrating its Portuguese subsidiary into the Worldwide Broker Network, insurance brokerage Verlingue is tightening the gears of its international operations. This strategic move aims to bridge the gap between local market requirements and the complex, cross-border risk management needs of its corporate clients across the Iberian Peninsula.

Verlingue Portugal Joins WBN to Anchor Adelaïde Group Expansion

The expansion falls under the Adelaïde Group’s Better Future 28 strategy, a roadmap designed to cement Verlingue’s status as Europe’s premier independent, family-owned insurance broker. CEO Vincent Harel emphasized that modern companies require a dual-pronged approach, balancing global oversight with granular local knowledge. The WBN integration provides that bridge, allowing the firm to better coordinate insurance programs for businesses operating in multiple jurisdictions.

Verlingue currently maintains a physical presence in France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, and Portugal, supported by a wider partner network covering over 100 countries. With 1,600 employees and €3.4bn in negotiated premiums, the firm is leveraging this infrastructure to address the increasing interdependence of corporate risks. For clients, the addition of the Portuguese office to the WBN framework simplifies the harmonization of insurance policies, ensuring that global strategies remain compliant with the specific regulatory and operational realities of the local market.
