Erin Brewer Joins Blue Shield of California Board

Brewer brings over 25 years of experience in corporate strategy and financial operations to the Oakland-based organization. During her tenure at Lyft, which began in 2023, she helped steer the company toward its first full year of profitability while managing investor relations and internal audits. Her previous career trajectory includes leadership roles at Charles Schwab, Atlassian, and McKesson Corporation.

Board chair Pamela DeCoste emphasized that Brewer’s background in navigating complex organizational transformations will be critical to the insurer's mission. For her part, Brewer stated that the commitment to sustainable healthcare affordability aligns with her own professional objectives. She holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and an accounting degree from Purdue University.
