The 5 MW system operates through a combination of natural gas cogeneration, absorption cooling, and advanced water recovery technologies. Each module generates 5,000 kilowatts of power and recovers 12,000 gallons of water daily. By converting combustion exhaust into food-grade liquid carbon dioxide, the platform effectively turns a waste stream into a secondary industrial asset.
Energy Concepts president William Cristofaro noted that the platform addresses the infrastructure strain caused by the rapid expansion of high-density computing. Because the units are modular, they scale from small edge facilities to massive hyperscale campuses. At a 100 MW site, the system could generate 240,000 gallons of water per day, comparable to the consumption of 300 average American households. By decoupling data center operations from local grid constraints, the company aims to reduce the financial risks and upfront capital requirements typically associated with massive digital infrastructure projects.
