Creality Debuts SPARKX i8 With Zero-Waste Color Printing

At the heart of the new machine lies the QuarTeks Color Change System. By integrating four independent filament channels into a single, compact toolhead, the i8 eliminates the need for complex toolhead swapping or external material management. The system utilizes an ultra-short shared filament path of less than 1 mm, which Creality claims allows for color transitions in under one second. Lab tests conducting 3,000 color switches showed the i8 completing tasks 500% faster than conventional external feed systems.

The hardware architecture also addresses the environmental and material costs associated with multi-color printing. By flushing color transitions directly into the model’s infill or inner walls, the device achieves zero external purge waste. Further efficiency gains are realized through the removal of prime towers, with a dedicated clean wall used to ensure surface quality. Beyond basic multi-color capabilities, the i8 supports CMYK-style layered color mixing, enabling the creation of gradients and intermediate tones from a four-spool base.

Reliability is managed by 13 integrated sensors and an AI vision camera, which track filament status and mechanical performance in real time. The unit also features an automatic filament refill function, allowing users to load multiple spools of identical material to prevent mid-print stoppages. The SPARKX i8 is currently available on Indiegogo at a super early-bird price of $289, with the MSRP set to rise to $399 once initial inventory is exhausted. Shipping is scheduled to commence in October, with deliveries expected throughout November.
