The seed round was co-led by SOSV and Twynam, with participation from One Small Planet, Sahsen Ventures, Avila VC, California Innovation Fund, quantumEDGE, Riceberg Ventures and Alumni Ventures. Pacific Union Technology Precision Manufacturing, a publicly listed precision-components manufacturer, is backing a line intended to support commercial-volume production. RadianX says its first automated line will have 6MW of capacity.
RadianX, formerly California Perovskite Technology, makes modules as thin as 0.7 millimeters, in custom sizes and output voltages. The company says they can generate power in indoor and low-light conditions where conventional silicon is less effective, potentially extending device runtime and reducing battery replacement. It says it is already integrating modules with device makers.
The company says its modules are among the first perovskite products certified by TÜV in all three categories of IEC TS 63163, including Category 3, for products with high outdoor exposure. It reports certified efficiency results at cell, panel and full-module scale, including 22.33% on a 1.2-by-0.6-meter module, which it described as a world record for that format at the time. RadianX also says its modules passed lead-release testing under the EU’s REACH regulation and comply with RoHS.
CEO and co-founder Vivian Qu said perovskite production does not depend on the silicon supply chain and can be carried out in a single facility. Pacific Union Technology CEO Tiger Yang said RadianX had demonstrated performance and stability and validated the technology with customers. Gary Chen, formerly CEO of Riverside, California-based 250MW solar producer Sunspark, has joined RadianX as vice president of manufacturing and product. The company is also working with NGK Corporation to pair its modules with NGK’s EnerCera batteries in wireless asset trackers and is participating in the 2026 Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator, run by Plug and Play.
