Jay Biondo Joins Eventus to Lead Product and Regulatory Strategy

Biondo joins the Austin-based firm following a nine-year tenure at Trading Technologies, where he most recently served as Head of Surveillance. His background spans both the private sector and regulatory oversight, including a three-year stint as a Regulatory Analyst at FINRA and a role as an enforcement attorney for the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department. CEO Cameron Routh noted that Biondo’s dual expertise in building multi-asset surveillance products and managing legal compliance makes him a strategic fit for the company’s current growth phase.

At Eventus, Biondo faces a market landscape defined by tightening global regulations and shifting market structures. He is tasked with refining the Validus platform—a tool currently utilized by tier-1 banks, broker-dealers, and exchanges—to better address the evolving demands of high-volume, real-time trading environments. His appointment follows a career history that includes leadership roles at Neurensic and Allston Trading, as well as a Juris Doctor and an LLM in Financial Services from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
