Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Earns Top Northern California Ranking

The hospital’s performance in the 2026–2027 rankings highlights its consistent dominance in complex care. Four departments placed within the top 10 nationally: Neonatology and Nephrology both secured the No. 4 rank, followed by Neurology and Neurosurgery at No. 7, and Pulmonology and Lung Surgery at No. 8. These results mark the 22nd year the institution has appeared on the prestigious list.

Paul A. King, CEO of Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, attributed the success to the multidisciplinary approach maintained by the hospital's medical staff. Beyond its state-level standing, the hospital was named the top facility in the West for both Neonatology and Nephrology. As the core of the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health network, the hospital currently operates across a broad footprint, serving as a primary destination for families seeking specialized pediatric treatment throughout the Pacific region.
