Currently, clinicians must manually map regions of interest on the body to track temperature variations, a process prone to human error and inconsistency due to natural patient asymmetry. Vizbodx’s invention utilizes anatomical landmark registration to propose corresponding regions, which the clinician must then confirm, adjust, or reject.
This approach shifts the focus from fixed pixel coordinates to anatomical landmarks. By storing data relative to specific physical structures rather than image frames, the system allows for accurate longitudinal tracking even when patient positioning or imaging equipment changes between sessions. Barry Hix, CEO of Vizbodx, emphasized that the architecture is intended to automate repetitive tasks rather than replace medical expertise. CTO Mayco Anderson Moreira added that the system is designed to provide consistency across bilateral comparisons while maintaining the necessity of human oversight. This filing marks the company's third patent application, further cementing its "Clinician-First" approach to integrating artificial intelligence into sports and occupational medicine workflows.
