Kia Expands Electric Commercial Fleet with New PV7 Van

Unveiled at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, the Kia PV7 arrives as the latest addition to the company's dedicated all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup. Designed to scale the brand's reach in the light commercial sector, the vehicle debuts in both cargo and passenger configurations, targeting a broad 2027 market entry.

Built on the specialized E-GMP.S architecture, the PV7 emphasizes a flat-floor design aimed at maximizing internal volume for logistics and shuttle operators. Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song stated the model functions as a complete business solution rather than a standalone vehicle, integrating custom hardware with fleet-specific software. The architecture supports a flexible body system, allowing for significant customization to meet diverse operational demands ranging from small business delivery to large-scale fleet management.

Beyond the physical chassis, Kia is rolling out a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The Business Solutions Portal offers real-time fleet monitoring, predictive diagnostics, and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime. Following the 2027 launch in Korea and Europe, the company intends to scale the PV7 family to 23 distinct variants. This expansion precedes the anticipated 2029 arrival of the PV9, as Kia aggressively pursues a modular, data-driven approach to the global light commercial vehicle market.
