The company’s decision to evolve the Reverie brand follows a recognition that modern buyers prioritize flexibility, experiences, and community engagement regardless of age. While the brand will continue to offer age-restricted environments where demand persists, it is now incorporating Resort Lifestyle communities that cater to individuals seeking specific amenities without formal age requirements.
David Smith, Vice President of Active Adult for Dream Finders Homes, noted that the evolution reflects a fundamental change in buyer motivation. The company is leaning into its core pillars—Connect, Explore, and Thrive—to guide home design and programming. A primary example of this shift is the Reverie at Looking Glass community in Parker, Colorado. Following market analysis, the project was repositioned from an age-restricted development to a resort-lifestyle model. Despite the change in status, the homes retain features tailored to empty nesters and active buyers, including main-level living, open floor plans, and a $9 million investment in resort-inspired amenities. By decoupling the lifestyle experience from age-restricted zoning, Dream Finders Homes aims to capture a wider segment of the market that shares a common outlook on energy, wellness, and social interaction.
