The LiftSentinel acts as a secondary layer of protection, engineered to integrate with existing equipment rather than requiring a complete system overhaul. Compatible with BraunAbility lifts dating back to 2005, the accessory features anti-pinch functionality and a rattle-free design. It stows at a maximum height of 66 inches, ensuring it remains outside the vehicle's interior cabin during transit.
Jim Probst, vice president and general manager of BraunAbility’s commercial division, stated the product serves as a direct response to customer feedback regarding operational confidence. The hardware meets standards aligned with NHTSA 403 requirements for handrails and outboard barriers. This rollout targets high-frequency transit environments, including non-emergency medical transport and public school systems, where consistent, repeatable safety protocols remain a daily necessity.
