The new product, which features a blend of sun-ripened tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and extra-virgin olive oil, is currently rolling out at select Whole Foods Market locations. By positioning the soup as a meal-adjacent item, the company aims to capture shoppers looking for high-quality, quick solutions for lunches or snacks. Pol Codina, Senior Vice President of Food Ventures at PepsiCo, noted that the product serves a growing demand for recognizable ingredients that align with fast-paced, modern eating habits.
This expansion signals a broader shift in PepsiCo’s retail strategy, which seeks to leverage the chilled aisle as a discovery destination for premium, fresh food. Marisa Perez, Senior Vice President of the Fresh Experiences Portfolio, emphasized that the company is aiming to meet consumers in evolving eating occasions by blending culinary tradition with the necessity for efficiency. The move follows a fiscal year in which the beverage and snack giant generated nearly $94 billion in net revenue, now looking to scale its presence in the competitive market for fresh, refrigerated meal components.
