The latest suite, including Codebeamer 3.3, Codebeamer AI 1.2, and Pure Variants 7.3, focuses on streamlining the digital thread. A central addition is the Delta Merge feature in Codebeamer 3.3, which propagates approved changes across related product variants automatically. This replaces the traditional, error-prone method of manual reapplication, supported by new role-based permissions that govern who can authorize these modifications.
Enrique Krajmalnik, General Manager of ALM at PTC, noted that the primary goal is to reclaim engineering hours often lost to untangling merges or searching for requirements. To address information retrieval, Codebeamer AI 1.2 integrates a semantic search assistant. Unlike keyword-based tools, this system interprets user intent to surface more accurate results while providing an indexing service that allows regulated industries to maintain strict control over data processing environments.
Pure Variants 7.3 further complements these updates with Stream Transformation. This function converts configured variants into linked, active sets of requirements, ensuring that specific feature values update automatically rather than requiring manual adjustment. By tightening the integration between these tools and PTC’s Windchill PLM platform, the company intends to provide a more cohesive foundation for manufacturers managing complex product lifecycles.
