The litigation targets the period between October 30, 2025, and April 30, 2026, focusing on claims that management concealed the negative consequences of the age-check rollout. While CEO David Baszucki praised the initiative as a "gold standard" implementation during a February 2026 earnings call, the company’s Q1 results revealed a different reality. Roblox reported a significant deceleration in daily active users and slashed its 2026 bookings growth forecast from 24% to 10%.

Plaintiffs contend that the age-verification process introduced friction that suppressed organic sign-ups and led to lower app store ratings. Hagens Berman partner Reed Kathrein is now spearheading an investigation into whether Roblox executives intentionally withheld these adverse metrics while publicly touting growth potential. Investors who suffered losses have until August 7, 2026, to serve as lead plaintiffs in the case.
