Tianjin Hosts SCO Youth Exchange and Vocational Training Summit

The conference focused on upgrading the quality of Luban Workshops while fostering cross-border cooperation in technical training. Kang Ning, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College, emphasized the institution’s role in cultivating internationally skilled professionals. His counterpart, Zhang Ying, detailed the operational side of these efforts, highlighting tiered training systems and practical programs designed to integrate Chinese technological expertise with global student needs. Industry representatives, including Song Lihong of Tianjin Qicheng Science & Technology, reinforced this mission by presenting actionable models for integrating corporate innovation into vocational curricula.

Beyond technical discussions, the event served as a cultural hub for youth from Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Egypt. The participants formally launched the SCO Gen Z Youth Exchange Initiative, pledging to act as ambassadors for international cooperation. Cultural immersion played a central role, with students exploring Tianjin’s heritage through visits to the Darentang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum and the Yangliuqing Woodblock New Year Paintings Museum. The gathering concluded with performances that highlighted the spirit of the initiative, including a notable rendition of the song "Friends" by Pakistani student Mushan, symbolizing the growing educational and social ties within the SCO region.
