TECNO and Angélica Dass Launch Global Portrait Project

The project debuted with 20 portraits and personal narratives from Kenya, where participants like Alex Mutua Muli and Jelimo Cheboi share their experiences with community building and redefining success. By utilizing TECNO's Universal Tone imaging technology, the collaboration seeks to move beyond the technical challenges of skin-tone representation to address the broader ethical implications of how AI shapes public perception.

Following the Kenyan chapter, the initiative will move to the Philippines to explore the concept of diskarte—a local approach to navigating life's practical challenges—before expanding to Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Brazil. Throughout the journey, the goal remains consistent: to assemble a collection of 100 distinct identities that resist being flattened into social labels or predetermined categories, prioritizing the individual's right to define their own path.
