Robbie Kröger Joins Federal Hunting and Conservation Advisory Council

Kröger brings a background in large-scale ecological restoration to the council. He previously served as the first chief scientist for the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council, where he helped define the scientific framework for recovery efforts following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. His career also includes an academic tenure as a professor in the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture at Mississippi State University.

Now leading The Origins Foundation, Kröger focuses on sustainable-use initiatives and field partnerships. He views his new federal role as an opportunity to integrate practical field experience with formal wildlife management discussions. The council, which was recently reestablished by the Department of the Interior, provides recommendations to the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture regarding public land access, habitat preservation, and the future of outdoor sporting traditions.
