Overlord Labs Hits $10 Million Funding Milestone for Edge AI Power

The fresh injection of funds, which includes both equity and non-dilutive strategic capital, follows the successful testing of the company’s flagship GENESIS battery intelligence chip. By integrating proprietary algorithms directly into its hardware, Overlord Labs seeks to replace traditional management systems that struggle with the thermal and runtime constraints of modern smart glasses, wearables, and hearables. The latest financing round was led by Band of Angels, with participation from Foothill Ventures, Unlock Pacific Ventures, and several returning strategic investors.

With working silicon in hand, the company is shifting its operations toward customer sampling and Tier-1 OEM partnerships. CEO Richard Nicholson noted that existing battery management architectures have failed to keep pace with the power demands of current mobile devices. The company plans to use the new capital to scale its firmware capabilities and establish the production infrastructure required for a projected volume rollout in the first half of 2027.
