Bold Penguin Opens DeX ai Infrastructure to Insurance Carriers and Brokers

With over $12.45 billion in premium processed through its Digital Exchange over the past year, Bold Penguin is now granting external carriers and brokers direct access to its core intelligence layer, DeX ai. The move transforms the company from a standalone platform into an open infrastructure provider for commercial insurance.

Bold Penguin Opens DeX ai Infrastructure to Insurance Carriers and Brokers

The newly released DeX ai functions as the engine behind Bold Penguin’s Digital Exchange, automating the path from submission to bind for middle-market and complex risks. By opening this intelligence via APIs, an MCP server, and agent-to-agent connections, the company allows partners to integrate risk-matching capabilities directly into their own systems. This infrastructure handles submission ingestion, market access, and coverage analysis, effectively flagging risk details for underwriters and generating automated broker proposals.

Eight of the ten largest U.S. commercial carriers already utilize this underlying framework. According to Peter Settel, President and CEO of Bold Penguin, the goal is to provide partners with discrete, callable agents that leverage the platform’s scale. The system is designed to handle routine placements automatically, reserving human expertise for the most complex accounts. Chief Product Executive Cheri Trites-Versluis noted that the technology was specifically engineered to resolve common industry bottlenecks, such as manual data rekeying and prolonged coverage comparisons. Accompanying the technical expansion, the company has launched a redesigned brand identity to reflect its shift toward serving as a foundational infrastructure layer for the broader commercial insurance market.
