Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Awarded $25,000 for STEM Education

The funding was announced during a community event at Origin Park in Jeffersonville, where Indiana American Water provided a mobile water trailer to support local families. This contribution is part of the foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing program, which targets curriculum development for students in underserved areas.

Maggie Elder, CEO of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, stated that the grant will deepen the organization’s ability to connect girls with natural resource protection. Brittany Montgomery, who manages Southern Indiana operations for Indiana American Water, emphasized that the partnership reflects a broader effort to link scientific education with local community needs. Through this series, participants will engage in pollinator habitat restoration and field research, building on the foundation’s decade-long history of philanthropic investment in the regions served by American Water.
