Infinium Expands SAF Production to Include Methane Feedstocks

The new mSAF initiative complements Infinium's existing CO₂-based eSAF business, leveraging the company’s proprietary Fischer–Tropsch synthesis technology. By integrating its electric steam methane reformer (eSMR)—the Reform™ package—Infinium replaces traditional gas-fired heating with renewable electricity. This shift minimizes process emissions and preserves feedstock carbon, directly increasing fuel yield and improving the economic viability of projects at landfills, dairies, and wastewater facilities.

Infinium CEO Robert Schuetzle noted that diversifying feedstock pathways is critical for meeting rising industry mandates. To ensure environmental integrity, the company collaborated with RMI to establish rigorous lifecycle accounting protocols. Since carbon intensity varies based on the methane source and production energy mix, Infinium will certify the footprint of its fuel on a project-by-project basis. The company, which already operates the Project Pathfinder facility in Texas, is currently scaling its capacity with the construction of Project Roadrunner in Pecos.
