Qedma Brings Error Mitigation Software to NVIDIA CUDA-Q Platform

Quantum computing startup Qedma has integrated its QESEM error mitigation software into NVIDIA’s CUDA-Q platform, allowing researchers to run more complex workloads on existing hardware. The move aims to boost accuracy on Quantinuum systems and other quantum platforms by bypassing the need for fully fault-tolerant machines.

The integration allows users to incorporate error reduction directly into their existing programming interfaces without altering established workflows. By addressing the noise inherent in current quantum systems, the software enables the execution of algorithms that were previously hindered by hardware limitations. Dr. Asif Sinay, CEO and co-founder of Qedma, noted that this accessibility provides a practical path for researchers to extract more utility from current hardware, accelerating the march toward commercial quantum advantage.

NVIDIA’s Director of Quantum Product, Sam Stanwyck, emphasized that streamlining error mitigation is essential for the development of future quantum-GPU supercomputing systems. This collaboration follows Qedma’s recent demonstration of quantum advantage alongside IBM, where their software successfully resolved quantum material dynamics that exceeded the capabilities of state-of-the-art classical simulation. Qedma, founded by Dr. Sinay, Prof. Dorit Aharonov, and Prof. Netanel Lindner, continues to focus on hardware-agnostic solutions to overcome current industry barriers.
