The partnership connects eTip’s financial wellness software directly to Toast’s point-of-sale data, allowing restaurants to pull sales and labor information automatically. Once managers set their specific tip-sharing policies, the system handles the complex math behind tip splits and pool distribution. This shift removes the need for physical cash payouts and reduces the compliance risks often associated with manual accounting.
Nick Danforth, Senior Director of Business Development at Toast, noted that the collaboration provides operators with a more efficient way to manage payouts by syncing two distinct software solutions. For employees, the primary benefit is faster access to earnings, which replaces traditional pay cards or delayed cash cycles. Nicolas Cassis, CEO and co-founder of eTip, stated that the goal is to free operators from back-office tasks so they can focus entirely on guest experiences. eTip joins a network of over 200 partners within the Toast ecosystem, continuing a wider industry trend toward digitizing cash-heavy service operations.
