Heritage Capital Group acted as the exclusive financial advisor for the transaction, steering Jemison Investment Company through the sale to the family-owned SPS organization. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the move integrates Jemison’s network of service centers across Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, South Carolina, and Virginia into the broader SPS logistics and processing framework.
Leadership from both sides highlighted the strategic alignment of the two firms. David Brown, Chairman of Jemison Investment Company, noted that the selection of SPS was driven by a desire to ensure long-term stability for the company’s employees and customers. John Simon, Chief Strategy Officer at SPS, pointed to the innovative reputation Jemison has maintained throughout various economic cycles. Legal counsel for the acquisition was provided by Butler Snow LLP, with John Montgomery leading the advisory team at Heritage Capital Group.
