R.H. Boyd to Host Stories by the Sea Luncheon on Martha’s Vineyard

Against the historic backdrop of Martha’s Vineyard, R.H. Boyd will convene national leaders in faith, education, and philanthropy on August 11, 2026. The inaugural "Stories by the Sea" luncheon serves as a milestone event, marking the publisher's journey toward 130 years of service while examining the enduring influence of Black storytelling.

The gathering at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown brings together a distinguished panel to discuss how lived experience and cultural heritage shape modern communities. Moderated by Dr. LaDonna Boyd, the fifth-generation President and CEO of the company, the discussion features Marc H. Morial of the National Urban League, Rev. Dr. Malcom J. Byrd, and Harvard Divinity School Dean Marla Frederick.

Founded in 1896, R.H. Boyd remains one of the country’s oldest Black-owned publishing firms. This event extends the organization’s mission of cultural preservation by creating a dedicated space for reflection on legacy. Beyond the conversation, the luncheon functions as a platform for the R.H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund, which provides scholarships and community grants. Attendees are invited to support these educational initiatives as the company prepares for its upcoming anniversary.
