The company’s performance was bolstered by a 7% increase in gold production compared to the first quarter, alongside an average realized gold price of $4,433 per ounce. Net profit for the three-month period reached $222 million, with an adjusted EBITDA margin hitting a record 61%. These results allowed the firm to return $78 million to shareholders through dividends and ongoing share buybacks, with management confirming that up to $350 million remains approved for repurchases throughout the year.

Operational milestones were reached across several key assets. At the Waihi North Project, development of the decline toward the high-grade Wharekirauponga orebody began in May, remaining on schedule for first ore in 2032. Simultaneously, the Macraes operation in New Zealand celebrated a historic achievement in July, producing its 6 millionth ounce of gold since operations commenced in 1990. President and CEO Gerard Bond noted that the company intends to maintain this momentum, with production expected to increase in the second half of 2026 as higher grades are accessed at the Haile mine and underground mining rates at Didipio ramp up.
