NYSD and UNYP Launch Dual-Credential Fashion Management Program

A new academic alliance between the New York School of Design and the University of New York in Prague will merge Central European business training with Manhattan-based creative immersion. The 3.5-year Fashion Design Management track aims to prepare students for the intersection of commercial strategy and industry-specific design application.

Starting in Fall 2027, the program integrates specialized fashion studies into the standard Bachelor of Business Administration curriculum at UNYP. Students spend their initial five semesters in Prague, mastering marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship. The transition to the United States occurs in the sixth semester, where participants move to the NYSD Manhattan campus for an intensive residency focused on studio work, portfolio development, and direct industry networking.

Graduates of the seven-semester track earn a BBA from UNYP alongside a professional Fashion Design Certificate from NYSD. Janet Tsong, president of the New York School of Design, noted that the collaboration intends to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical demands of New York’s creative ecosystem. To lower financial barriers for international applicants, the partnership includes specific scholarship opportunities for those enrolled in the concentration. The curriculum targets career paths in brand management, product development, and fashion entrepreneurship, leveraging the distinct academic strengths of both institutions.
