iTmethods Joins Linux Foundation to Standardize Regulated AI Governance

As financial institutions transition autonomous agents from pilot programs to live production, Toronto-based iTmethods has joined the Linux Foundation, FINOS, and the Agentic AI Foundation. The company aims to integrate its runtime control and evidence-based governance into the open standards required to satisfy strict regulatory oversight.

The move positions iTmethods to contribute its expertise in "Continuous Agentic Assurance" to the broader open-source ecosystem. By focusing on model portability and tamper-evident logging, the firm intends to help banks and insurers maintain control over autonomous workflows, even when switching between different AI models. The company is actively working with the FINOS AI Fund, which includes major stakeholders like Morgan Stanley, RBC, and DTCC, to refine the tools necessary for responsible deployment.

Olivier Poupeney, Field CTO at FINOS, emphasized that the industry requires automated compliance and observable infrastructure to scale AI safely. iTmethods brings practical experience from its work with Fluxnova, a FINOS-hosted orchestration platform, to these collaborative efforts. CEO Paul Goldman noted that while many organizations are focused on agent capabilities, the critical missing element remains the assurance layer that proves agent actions to auditors. Through this membership, the firm plans to bridge the gap between experimental agentic technology and the rigid compliance demands of the financial sector.
