Baker City Duo Launches Bird-Inspired Picture Book for Children

The collaboration marks the debut release for Sea Pony Books, a new venture founded by Blair, an art gallery manager and novelist. The project emerged from a shared local interest in avian behavior and artistic expression. By utilizing physical, textured collage work, the creators aim to provide children with a sensory reading experience that contrasts with the prevalence of digital, robotic imagery in modern youth literature.

Beyond its playful rhymes, the book serves as an educational tool for readers aged two to eight. The final pages include detailed information on the bird species featured throughout the narrative, encouraging children to observe wildlife in their own environments. The book is set for release on July 20, 2026, and includes an interactive coloring page to further engage young readers.
