The festival features a curated selection of 10 feature-length films and five shorts, spanning genres from gritty crime thrillers to existential drama. This program is the result of a strategic collaboration with five major Korean institutions, including the Seoul and Jeonju International Film Festivals, aimed at securing global visibility for works that often struggle to find distribution beyond their domestic borders.
Opening the event is Kam Jeongwon’s STARS AND SAND, which recently claimed the Grand Prize at the 51st Seoul Independent Film Festival. The closing night spotlights The World of Love by Yoon Ga-eun, a director recognized for her award-winning track record at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Throughout the ten-day run, the center will host post-screening Q&A sessions, allowing local film enthusiasts to engage directly with visiting directors like Lee Weonyoung and Kim Myunwoo.
Beyond the main features, a specialized short film section—co-presented with the Korea Creative Content Agency and Netflix Korea—highlights the next wave of Korean storytelling. While all screenings are free to the public, the organizers require pre-registration via the official KCCNY website to manage capacity. This initiative marks a significant step in the center’s mission to solidify its 122 E 32nd Street location as a vital hub for international cinematic exchange.
