S&P Global Ratings Grants CSH an A+ Credit Rating

The Corporation for Supportive Housing has secured an A+ issuer credit rating from S&P Global Ratings, a designation that underscores the nonprofit’s fiscal health and long-term stability. This evaluation highlights the organization's disciplined approach to lending after nearly 35 years of financing affordable developments across the United States.

The rating serves as a validation of the nonprofit’s rigorous underwriting standards, evidenced by a cumulative net loss rate of just 0.44% throughout its history. By maintaining this level of portfolio performance, CSH aims to leverage its new credit status to attract additional capital and expand its reach in the competitive housing sector. As of late 2025, the institution managed 174 active loans and investments valued at approximately $647 million.

Deborah De Santis, president and CEO of CSH, noted that the designation is a tool for increasing housing capacity rather than merely a financial benchmark. The organization, which has facilitated the creation of over 512,500 units since 1991, intends to utilize this improved access to capital to bridge the widening gap between housing supply and community demand. By operating as an intermediary, CSH continues to focus on early-stage project financing and the strategic deployment of New Markets Tax Credits.
