This strategy yielded significant outcomes, including a 100% housing retention rate for participants in Cincinnati’s Renew Collaborative and the distribution of over 2.3 million meals by Food Connect across Newark, the Twin Cities, and the Bay Area. In Detroit, the RxKids program provided $10.7 million in support to 4,195 families during pregnancy and the critical first year of infancy.
Beyond immediate relief, the fund reports long-term gains in economic stability and education. In six cities, workforce development participants earned wages two to three times the local minimum, while Newark’s EMS Corps saw 77% of its graduates transition into full-time employment. CEO Ali Knight noted that these milestones reflect the efficacy of listening to local leaders and scaling solutions that have already proven successful elsewhere. Co-Founder John Simon emphasized that the organization’s due diligence process remains the primary driver behind these results, ensuring that capital is directed toward sustainable, high-impact programs.
