Lufax Extends Maturity on Ping An Convertible Notes

Shareholders at Lufax Holding Ltd have voted to push back the maturity date of outstanding convertible promissory notes held by Ping An Overseas Holdings. The decision, finalized during an extraordinary general meeting in Shanghai on October 8, secures an additional year of breathing room for the financial services firm.

The resolution grants Lufax an extension from the original October 8, 2026 deadline to October 8, 2027. Alongside this maturity adjustment, the company secured a specific mandate to allot and issue new shares valued at US$2.32 each, contingent upon the conversion rights exercised by Ping An under the amended terms. The board authorized its directors to execute all necessary legal and administrative agreements to finalize the transition. Lufax continues to operate as a primary financial services provider for small business owners across China, maintaining a funding network that includes over 85 domestic financial institutions.
