Rather than anchoring care to a specific hospital or physical campus, the One Health model utilizes a tech-enabled infrastructure. This approach connects experts and diagnostic resources directly to the physicians and locations where patients already receive their treatment. By removing the traditional barriers between specialties, the platform provides doctors with a comprehensive view of a patient’s systemic health rather than isolated symptoms.
General Manager Ali Karim emphasized that the current healthcare structure unfairly shifts the logistical load onto the patient. With the new center, the organization aims to ensure that care delivery crosses specialty lines as fluidly as the conditions themselves. Dr. Manish Jain, a rheumatologist at the One Health practice Ravenswood Rheumatology, noted that this collaborative framework allows clinicians to identify patterns that remain hidden when specialists operate in silos. This initiative marks the first in a series of planned centers targeting complex health conditions across the nonprofit’s 35-state network.
