EMCO Industries Launches Automated Oklahoma Plant for Heavy-Duty Springs

Twelve industrial robots are now operational at EMCO Industries’ new 30,000-square-foot facility in Claremore, Oklahoma. By shifting to an automated production line for heavy-duty trailer springs, the manufacturer intends to slash lead times to eight weeks and bolster its domestic supply chain against the volatility of international shipping.

The multimillion-dollar expansion more than doubles EMCO’s production capacity, utilizing American steel to craft roughly a dozen spring configurations. This includes the High-Performance Mono-Leaf Spring, which sheds 25 percent of component weight while exceeding fatigue life requirements set by the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association. The facility adds approximately 20 jobs to the regional economy.

To drive sales for this increased output, the company appointed Wayne Sornberger as director of business development. Sornberger, a 35-year industry veteran based in Alberta, Canada, is tasked with securing contracts by highlighting the reliability of domestic manufacturing. With many trailer producers still recovering from pandemic-era supply chain bottlenecks, EMCO is positioning its shortened eight-week delivery window as a primary competitive advantage over offshore competitors vulnerable to tariff fluctuations and transit delays.
