The litigation centers on claims that UWM Holdings deviated from its established practice of avoiding mortgage servicing rights hedging. According to the complaint, the company allegedly over-hedged in anticipation of the Two Harbors transaction, creating excessive risk rather than the balanced portfolio executives described to the market. Plaintiffs contend these undisclosed maneuvers rendered the company’s public statements about its business operations and financial health materially misleading.
Rosen Law Firm, which initiated the action, is currently seeking investors to serve as representatives in the litigation. While the court has not yet certified a class, those who purchased stock during the specified period may be eligible for compensation through a contingency fee arrangement. Investors retain the right to select their own counsel or remain absent members of the class, as serving as a lead plaintiff is not a prerequisite for participating in a potential future settlement.
