Led by CEO Dr. Tatsuhiko Watanabe, a former ETH Zurich researcher, the Yokohama-based firm is positioning the SOXAI Ring X as a fusion of compact engineering and clinical interest. At 5.19 mm in width, the device claims the title of the category's narrowest ring while maintaining a 10-day battery life. Unlike many market competitors that rely on white-label hardware, SOXAI manages its own proprietary stack, encompassing physical design, firmware, and data analysis systems manufactured directly in Japan.
The push into the global market comes at a time when sleep tracking has become a core differentiator for the brand. SOXAI has previously collaborated with institutions like the University of Tokyo and the University of Essex to validate its heart rate and movement data algorithms. While these academic studies focused on earlier iterations of the company’s hardware, they provide the technical foundation for the new model. The Kickstarter campaign, which runs through October 10, 2026, serves as a strategic barometer to determine which international regions the company will prioritize for its full-scale rollout.
