I Peace Wins Longevity Breakthrough Award for iPS Cell Research

Palo Alto-based biotech firm I Peace, Inc. has been named a recipient of the 2026 Top 10 Longevity Breakthrough Awards. The honor, presented at the Asia-Pacific Healthy Longevity International Summit, recognizes the company’s development of iPSF, a cell-free technology derived from induced pluripotent stem cell culture supernatants.

I Peace Wins Longevity Breakthrough Award for iPS Cell Research

The award highlights a pivot in regenerative medicine research. While traditional iPSC studies focus on tissue replacement through cell transplantation, I Peace is investigating how bioactive factors released by these cells influence surrounding tissue environments. By isolating and purifying these factors to create iPSF, the company aims to address age-related cellular decline without the necessity of administering living cells directly.

Dr. Koji Tanabe, who founded the company in 2015 after training in the laboratory of Nobel laureate Shinya Yamanaka, stated that the recognition validates the team's shift toward exploring intercellular signaling. Current investigations into iPSF are focused on extracellular matrix production and markers associated with aging. Preliminary research is also exploring potential applications for tissues prone to age-related functional decline, such as skin and hair. I Peace maintains that while these efforts represent a significant scientific progression, iPSF remains in the research and development stage and is not currently an approved pharmaceutical product.
