The expansion marks a significant shift in the broker's risk management strategy, moving from a previous USD 1 million threshold. Chief Executive Officer Peter Karsten emphasized that while insurance remains an afterthought during stable market conditions, the higher ceiling serves as a critical governance measure intended for worst-case insolvency scenarios. The policy applies automatically to all eligible clients of the Mauritius-based entity without requiring additional enrollment or fees.
Despite the increased coverage, the firm maintains that this remains an excess-of-loss policy subject to specific terms, conditions, and exclusions. Protection is triggered only in instances of covered misconduct during insolvency, rather than standard market-driven trading losses. Clients seeking to file a claim following such an event must coordinate with the appointed insolvency practitioner within a 12-month window. This coverage functions as a complement to the broker’s existing practice of separating client funds from company assets, reinforcing the firm's regulatory commitments across its five global jurisdictions.
