North Integrates Native Payments into Webflow to Eliminate Redirects

Enterprise eCommerce developers can now embed payment infrastructure directly into the Webflow canvas, ending the reliance on off-site redirects. The partnership between fintech firm North and Webflow allows high-ticket merchants to process transactions internally, aiming to boost conversion rates while maintaining total control over the digital customer journey.

Previously, designers building complex service sites or invoicing portals were forced to rely on fragmented stacks, stitching together frontend design tools with external payment gateways. This often resulted in disjointed user experiences and technical friction at the final point of purchase. Bryan Long, Senior Director of Product Management at North, noted that legacy ecosystems have historically hijacked traffic during the conversion process. By moving the payment engine inside the visual design environment, businesses can now maintain a seamless, unfragmented experience for their users.

Beyond design improvements, the integration addresses significant security and compliance hurdles. By utilizing North’s single-token architecture, sensitive card data is handled independently of Webflow’s internal servers, reducing the PCI compliance burden for merchants. The system also supports mobile-native wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, ensuring optimized rendering across devices. For agencies, the collaboration introduces a recurring revenue model, allowing developers to earn commissions on the transaction volume processed through the blueprints they deploy for clients. This shift signals a move toward more consolidated, enterprise-grade web development where payment logic is treated as a core design element rather than an external plugin.
