Skydio Expands Autonomous Fleet with Fixed-Wing F10 and New Software

The F10 Lightrunner represents a shift in Skydio’s strategy, aiming to provide broader coverage for public safety and utility providers. By utilizing the MegaDock, which houses up to five aircraft and features a suction-based robotic gripper for automated takeoff and landing, the system removes the need for ground crews. The hardware is paired with the Foresight autonomy software, which dynamically adjusts flight paths, and the Skydio Airspace Assurance System to manage collision avoidance and regulatory compliance.

Alongside the hardware, Skydio launched Asset Command and Security Command, two platforms designed to integrate drone operations into existing industry workflows. Asset Command pulls data from GIS and CMMS systems to automate infrastructure inspections for partners like Chevron and Dominion Energy. Security Command focuses on site protection, providing live aerial feeds for security teams. These software suites, along with the F10, are scheduled for general availability in early 2027.
