A survey of over 1,000 entrepreneurs conducted by HeyGen reveals a significant disconnect between the perceived necessity of video content and the execution of it. While 69% of respondents acknowledge that video is essential for brand growth, the act of filming remains a significant hurdle. Those who abandon their footage are 1.5 times more likely to report losing business to more visible competitors. Women face this challenge most acutely, reporting that being on camera is nearly twice as draining as it is for their male counterparts.
To bridge this gap, many are turning to AI-generated avatars. These tools are seeing the highest adoption rates in high-stakes fields like law and finance, where professionals are under pressure to remain visible but often lack the time or inclination for traditional production. HeyGen CMO Andrew Mok notes that these groups are adopting the technology not to avoid showing up, but to eliminate the "tax" of constant filming. Users report a 3.49 out of 5 satisfaction rate regarding audience reception, debunking the fears of non-users who worry that AI-generated content will appear synthetic. Beyond efficiency, 17.6% of adopters credit the technology with securing new leads that would have otherwise remained out of reach.
