Rock Tech and Siemens Partner on Digital Lithium Processing in Ontario

The partnership, an outgrowth of a March 2026 memorandum of understanding, centers on the deployment of a Digital Twin. This physics-based model allows Rock Tech to simulate operations, stress-test design choices, and monitor emissions throughout the project lifecycle. By validating these parameters virtually, the company intends to reduce capital risk and ensure operational reliability for its planned annual output of up to 32,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.

Beyond the digital infrastructure, Siemens is providing direct technical support to the project team for the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study. This study, which launched in June 2026, is scheduled for completion by mid-December. The collaboration is framed as a strategic effort to bolster G7 mineral supply chains by blending Canadian resources with specialized industrial automation, potentially serving as a blueprint for future North American converter sites.
