The financing, provided by a consortium of five major financial institutions including OCBC Bank and the Bank of China, will support the company's Phase II brownfield project. By leveraging advanced syngas and ammonia processes, the facility aims to elevate total production capacity to 2 million tonnes per annum. Company leadership noted that the project is designed to improve energy efficiency while bolstering domestic food security.
Following the acquisition of the Anyang nitrogen fertilizer business earlier this year, the investment signals a deeper integration into the Chinese industrial landscape. OCBC Bank acted as the coordinator for the deal, which also involves the Bank of Communications, Bangkok Bank, and China CITIC Bank. This expansion reflects a broader effort by Indorama to optimize its supply chain and solidify its standing as a primary fertilizer producer in the region.
