Clivet Targets AI Data Center Heat with New Magnetic Levitation Tech

Santa Clara’s AI Infra Summit 2026 became the stage for Clivet’s unveiling of its DUO POWER BOOST architecture. The company is betting on a dual-rotor magnetic levitation compressor to solve the energy efficiency and reliability bottlenecks currently plaguing high-density AI computing facilities across the globe.

As AI processing demands push cooling systems to their physical limits, Clivet is pivoting toward AIDC-optimized thermal management. Their latest compressor architecture features two rotors that adjust speeds independently, allowing the system to adapt to varying flow rates and pressure ratios in real time. This flexibility is designed to maintain performance despite the frequent load swings common in modern data centers.

Beyond the compressor, the company showcased a broad hardware suite including magnetic CDUs, fan walls, and terminal units. Their high-capacity CDU is capable of handling up to 5 MW at a 5K approach temperature difference, utilizing predictive controls to keep temperature fluctuations within a tight ±0.5°C window. To ensure uptime, the hardware supports online component replacement.

Clivet is also moving toward integrated infrastructure, partnering with CLOU to synchronize power delivery with thermal management. By coordinating energy storage and cooling from the project's inception, the firms aim to reduce the engineering friction often found in high-density rack deployments. This end-to-end approach allows facility operators to map relationships between infrastructure links before breaking ground on new builds.
