MGA Entertainment Expands Doll Market With Emotion-Driven Mirror Mi

Six fashion dolls based on distinct human emotions take center stage as MGA Entertainment launches its new Mirror Mi brand. By pairing physical collectibles with original music and cinematic storytelling, the company aims to move beyond traditional toy play into a multifaceted entertainment universe for its young audience.

The dolls, which feature 15 points of articulation and detailed styling, are designed to embody specific traits ranging from the bravery of Blaze Maxx to the sensitivity of Suki Goldpetal. These characters now appear in a cinematic music video directed by Grammy-nominated filmmaker Colin Tilley. Set within a competitive performing arts academy, the narrative follows the group as they navigate the complexities of friendship and self-expression.

Josh Hackbarth, Chief Marketing Officer at MGA, noted that the dolls serve as the initial point of connection, but the integrated media strategy allows fans to see their own experiences reflected in the characters' emotional arcs. This rollout signifies a shift for MGA, moving the brand toward a broader ecosystem that will soon include stop-motion films and an animated short-form series.

Beyond the primary line, the company plans to release four-inch Mini Mi dolls in October. These collectibles are designed as distinct, customizable versions of the core characters rather than simple miniatures. The full Mirror Mi collection is currently available at major retailers, with the accompanying music video streaming on YouTube.
