The dividend follows the issuance of 7,183,812 shares of preferred stock, which were created during the company’s acquisition of Liberty Broadband Corporation. At that time, each share of Liberty Broadband’s equivalent preferred stock converted into a Charter share.
These securities carry a 7% annual dividend rate and a liquidation preference of $25 per share, alongside accrued but unpaid dividends. Each share grants one-third of a vote, with a mandatory redemption date scheduled for March 9, 2039. Charter Communications continues to operate its Spectrum brand across 45 states, serving over 70 million locations with broadband, mobile, and video services.
