Manning Family Children’s Named Top Pediatric Hospital in Louisiana

U.S. News & World Report has designated Manning Family Children’s as the number one children’s hospital in Louisiana for the 2026-2027 cycle. The New Orleans-based facility earned the ranking by excelling in clinical outcomes and specialized care, securing its position among the nation's premier pediatric medical centers.

The annual rankings, released September 15, analyzed data from 114 hospitals to guide families toward high-stakes medical care. Beyond its state-wide top ranking, the hospital secured the 14th spot in the Southeast region. Four specific service lines achieved top-50 national status: Urology at 22nd, Nephrology at 36th, Cancer at 48th, and Neonatology at 49th.

Lucio A. Fragoso, President and CEO of the hospital, credited the distinction to the institution's specialized focus on pediatric wellbeing. The recognition follows an extensive evaluation process led by U.S. News and RTI International, which measured hospital resources, patient safety, and established best practices. Greg Feirn, CEO of LCMC Health, noted that the achievement is the culmination of long-term investments and partnerships with academic entities, including LSU Health New Orleans and the Tulane University School of Medicine.
