SIG SAUER Produces First Swedish-Made Suppressor

SIG SAUER has manufactured its first suppressor in Sweden, marking a strategic shift toward localized defense production. The initiative, executed alongside partners AMEXCI AB and MP-SEC International AB, aims to bolster military readiness across the Nordic region while strengthening the industrial supply chain necessary for NATO operations.

The partnership leverages AMEXCI’s industrial 3D printing expertise and MP-SEC’s established distribution networks to manufacture suppressors for SIG SAUER’s light machine guns. By shifting production to facilities in Sweden, the companies intend to modernize military hardware locally rather than relying on transatlantic logistics. SIG SAUER CEO Ron Cohen noted that the move reflects a broader strategy to expand European production capacity through high-quality local alliances.

AMEXCI CEO Edvin Resebo emphasized that the project proves advanced regional manufacturing can scale to meet future military requirements. MP-SEC CEO Pär Biörsson added that the collaboration secures a more resilient local capability for Nordic defense organizations. This development positions the Nordic region as a critical logistical hub for NATO as the alliance seeks to harden its defense industrial base against evolving global security demands.
