Wahl steps into the role with a background that includes more than 20 years in the education sector. Most recently, he served as CEO of Big Blue Marble Academy, where he led a period of significant growth that saw the organization expand to 93 schools across eight states. His previous experience also includes executive roles at EdisonLearning and leadership positions with General Electric.
His appointment signals a strengthening of the partnership between Summit and Avathon Capital, the firm that previously backed Wahl’s tenure at Big Blue Marble Academy. Shoshana Vernick, Managing Partner at Avathon, noted that the firm recruited Wahl for his specific ability to scale organizations while maintaining a focus on core missions. At Summit, Wahl will manage a diverse portfolio of brands, including the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the National Federation of Professional Trainers. He is tasked with enhancing the learner experience and broadening the company’s reach across the healthcare professional lifecycle, from initial board exams to advanced clinical certifications.
